Program Summary

UC San Diego's award-winning Survey and Analytics Program provides key metrics to guide continuous improvement initiatives. Survey instruments are designed, statistically validated, and administered by UCSD's team of social science and programming experts. Actionable data from customized dashboards inform university leaders of staff, faculty, and student priorities. The surveys are scalable and customizable, and UCSD currently administers and analyzes customer satisfaction and staff climate surveys for the Cal State Chancellor's Office as well as a number of other universities. This new collaboration has introduced new opportunities across California's Public Higher Education lines to benchmark data and share best practices.

Learning Objectives

Why should I care about customer surveys in higher education?
The audience will learn about UC San Diego's surveys and dashboards to collect important information about their business operations from the voice of the faculty, staff, and student customers.

How are the surveys used, or made a difference at UCSD?
See examples of how survey data can be translated into actionable information and lead to specific continuous improvement projects. Case studies of data to action will be shared.

How are other institutions participating?
Participants will see how results are being benchmarked with other universities who are participating in the UCSD surveys and benchmarking program, and see examples of how these institutions are also the survey results to drive improvements.

Target Audiences

All levels are welcome! Intended for business leaders who are interested in learning about the benefits of using objective survey data from campus customers and staff to drive business and climate improvements.
